During these last five years our tourism industry has declined due to a series of Downfalls that the country has been going through these recent years. Such as the covid 19 pandemic  which lasted for almost like two years since 2020 and  Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Despite these ups and downs the country is going through. chairman of the Sri Lanka tourism development authority (SLTDA) Pranitha Fernando  is looking froward to pick the industry up again by achieving a target of 2.3 million arrivals scheduled for this year. As he is hoping to achieve the target with an increase in flights and new airlines coming in.
